Cosmelan® is the most effective depigmentation treatment currently available on the market. The treatment must be supervised by a dermatologist. The main indication is elimination of hormone-induced hyperpigmentation (melasma, chloasma). The treatment is divided into two phases: the first phase comprises a depigmenting peeling performed in the doctor’s office; the second phase requires the patient to follow the recommended home care procedure. Follow-up consultations with the case manager are free of charge and take place 8, 15 and 30 days after the in-office treatment.
The Cosmelan® treatment is suitable for all skin photo-types and can be performed in any season of the year. In 99% of cases, the intensity of pigmentation is reduced by 95%. Throughout the treatment the patient must not use other de-pigmenting or peeling products. The treatment should start at least 10 days after the last skin exfoliation.
